A Field of Remembrance has opened in Gateshead to remember those who have died in the service of their country.
The Field was inaugurated in 2012. Since then, thousands of crosses have been planted, at Saltwell Park, in memory of those who have given their lives.
The Field of Remembrance was dedicated in a ceremony this morning (Saturday 2nd November). It will be open for the next fortnight to allow people to plant their own crosses.
