A friend of a missing Northumberland woman has described how people in her home village are supporting each other at a difficult time.
There has been no trace of Janis Hall since she disappeared on Thursday 19th December 2013.
Searches of land and countryside around the village of Catton have taken place, often in terrible weather conditions. So far they have failed to throw up vital clues over her disappearance.
Mrs Hall has played a big part in Catton village life for many years, including the church and W.I.. Prayers were said for her by congregations over Christmas.
One friend and neighbour, Ann Potter, praised police and mountain rescuers for their efforts in trying to find Mrs Hall. She says local people have been determined to help in whatever way they can.
Earlier this week, Mrs Hall's daughter, son and daughter-in-law appealed to their mother to get in touch to let them know she is safe.
They also urged walkers to contact police with any sightings of the missing 65 year old.
