Down at the bottom of gardens across the country, you can find far more than your average potting shed.
Miniature pubs, nightclubs, and even fairytale castles are providing elaborate places of relaxation for thousands.
And now the best are being entered into a national competition.
John Hardisty, from Benton, is flying the flag for Newcastle with his ornate 'Russian Summerhouse'.
He built it after meeting his wife while travelling through Russia, and can now peer out into his garden through beautiful stained-glass windows.
The roof over his outdoor home is inspired by Antoni Gaudi's designs in Barcelona.
But he faces tough competition from challengers across the UK.
Competitors have until May 5 to submit their entry for the best shed competition.
