Hexham Book Festival

Organisers of the Hexham Book festival say visitors are up this year, and they want to establish the event as the literary festival of the North. Author Ian Rankin, gives a talk in Queen's Hall tonight and, like many events of the festival, is sold out.

The festival is now in its ninth year. Festival director, Susie Troop says they are trying to do more to reach Northumberland's rural readers.
