Sunday's in-depth look ahead forecast for the NE

Will we be kicking up our heels in the sunshine next week? Photo: Ray Hutcheon

After a dry, sunny start to Sunday, there are likely to be a few homegrown showers developing across the region this afternoon as temperatures start to lift. There is the risk that one or two of these showers could turn heavy with an odd rumble of thunder and some lightning, but nothing like yesterday's weather.

Sunday's showers will be much more well scattered, feeling pleasant around 19-20c, 68f, a couple of degrees up on yesterday.

SUNDAY NIGHT

Odd shower persists on Sunday evening, maybe around Berwick, but generally drying up with clear spells developing on Sunday night, lows 11-13c.

MONDAY

Quite a bit cloudier than Sunday, in the morning especially. Showery, with those showers merging into longer spells of rain during the mid-afternoon period. Temperatures down a little on the weekend 15-19c.

Odd shower continues on Monday night, but generally turning dry again. Not especially breezy.
