The Foundation runs courses in more than 200 schools across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham.

It also runs courses in the community working with adults who are out of work, teenagers who have been excluded from school and to build health and fitness in families.

In 2013, 42,000 people took part in courses run by the Foundation.

Former Sunderland player, Marco Gabiadini, handed out certificates.
Children were given medals and tickets for a Sunderland home match.
9,000 people a week take part in courses at the Foundation of Light.
Adults have been joining children in school to learn how to help with their homework and take part in sport to build fitness.
