Fundraiser Mark Allison, better known as Run Geordie Run, has set off on the latest leg of a worldwide charity challenge.
Mark has pledged to run 20,000 miles around the world. He has just begun the 3,400 mile European stage, where he will need to run 38 miles almost every day for the next one hundred days.
Starting in Portugal, Mark will run through fourteen countries, aiming to finish in Istanbul in Turkey on 8th August. The route will take in sections of the Pyrenees and the Alps.
The 44 year old from Bedlington in Northumberland, is raising money for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and The Children's Foundation.
