Teenage X Factor sensation Sam Lavery, from County Durham, says she will give the performance of her life when she sings at the Metro Radio Arena.

The Coxhoe contestant is travelling the UK with The X Factor tour and 'loving every minute' but it's the show at Newcastle's arena that means the most to Sam.

Sam has told ITV News Tyne Tees that she's having the time of her life and that she cannot believe it is really happening to her.

The 17-year-old is regularly tweeting her thanks to friends, family and fans for all of their support. Her biggest supporter, her grandad, is not able to attend the show at the arena in Newcastle because of a fall.

"The fact that I'm getting to perform in my home town arena on The X Factor tour is incredible! I've watched it every year with my family and now I'm on it. It's INSANE!! Someone very special will be absent from the crowd that night, who unfortunately can't make it, so I'm going all out to give the performance of my life, for me and my grandad!

The rest of Sam's family will be there, most of the village too, says her mother!

"Our village is buzzing. The pub still has banners up outside and the owners will not be taking them down because they said they are so proud us as a family. Everyone is really excited.

"I only wish Sam's grandad was well enough to go but he's with her all the way and wants videos and photos. There are lots of banners going from the village kids and a whole lot of love for Sam will be there tomorrow night."

Sam said during The X Factor TV show that singing at the arena Newcastle is what she's wanted since she was able to sing.

Well Sam, it's happening!
