Clear spells and scattered showers, these falling as sleet or snow at times, especially over high ground.

Some icy stretches on untreated surfaces are possible as a slight frost develops.

After a chilly start with a risk of ice on untreated surfaces there will be sunshine and scattered showers, locally wintry, especially over hills.

Feeling colder in the blustery wind. Maximum Temperature 7C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Outbreaks of rain, sleet or hill snow, perhaps low level snow initially Wednesday, gradually clearing through Thursday.

Mainly dry Friday with sunny spells and light winds, after a widespread frost.
