North East actress Denise Welch is celebrating after a short film produced by - and starring - the North East actress won a "best film" award at an American film festival.
Black Eyed Susan is a psychological drama about a woman trapped in her home by a teenage boy, intent on driving her to suicide.
Writing on Facebook, Denise Welch posted that the film has been named "best short drama" at the festival.
The film is written and directed by Nick Rowntree - originally from Teesside - and produced by Denise Welch, making her production debut.
Her youngest son Louis Healy stars alongside Kacey Ainsworth and Angela Lonsdale. Denise's eldest son, Matthew Healy - lead singer of The 1975 - wrote the soundtrack.
