A third man has been arrested as inquiries into two recent Billingham shootings continue, which Cleveland Police say they believe are linked.
Two cars, one black and one white, were seen in the Low Grange area of Billingham at around 2.45pm on Tuesday 15th August.
Police say the people in the two vehicles are believed to be known to each other.
Whilst stationary on Windlestone Road a man approached the black vehicle on a pedal cycle, produced a handgun and fired two shots at the black car, before riding away on his bike.
A second incident occurred after shots were fired at an unoccupied house on Hylton Road in Billingham at around 10.40pm on Wednesday 16th August.
No one was injured in either incident.
So far police have arrested:
- A 20-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. **Released with no further action on this charge*\*
- A 19-year-old man on suspicion of criminal damage recklessly endangering life. **Released with no further action*\*
- A 40-year-old man on suspicion of production of a Class B drug **Released while investigations continue**\*
- A 38-year-old woman onsuspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice **Released without charge*\*
Following the discovery of what is believed to be a significant amount of Class A drugs (suspected cocaine) and Class B drugs (suspected cannabis and suspected amphetamine), a 20 year old was charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and one count of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
