Sunderland's Oviedo to make return against Carlisle in EFL Cup

Sunderland Manager Simon Grayson has revealed defender Bryan Oviedo will start for the Black Cats against Carlisle United.

The Wearsiders travel to Cumbria for the Carabao Cup match on Tuesday night.

Brendan Galloway, on loan from Everton is expected to miss out due to an injury picked up in Sunderland's 0-2 loss at home to Leeds United on Saturday.

Bryan Oviedo will start against Carlisle on Tuesday.

Brendan has done okay for us – he is only 21 and – and there will be situations where good players can hurt you.

He picked up a knock in the game [against Leeds] and isn't available against Carlisle.

We picked up a couple of knocks but Brendan is the only player definitely out. One or two have reported in with illness as well which is not helpful, but whichever team we put out we want to win the game.
