County Durham teenager Sam Lavery has promised 'energised and memorable' performances as she embarks on her first UK solo tour since leaving The X Factor.

The 18-year-old singer found fame on the ITV talent show where she was mentored by music mogul Simon Cowell.

Since the show, Sam has been performing, spending time in the studio and preparing for what she describes as 'a dream come true' tour.

"I am just so excited - it's been a mad year and one I wouldn't change for the world. I feel like I have worked so hard for this tour.

I am nervous - that's natural - but I have worked harder than ever to make sure this is so special for the people who have supported me."

Sam has previously toured with The X Factor - but now she's hitting the stage for the first time without backup from the programme. Not only that - this is the first time she will perform her next singles.

"I feel like I have always been doing covers and that's great because the audience sings along and there's a massive buzz. But I finally have the mastered version of my EP now so the majority of my shows will be original material. It is such a risk but I am going for it! I hope everyone likes the songs.

I will be as big, bright and fun as I can!"

This tour has two North East dates. Sam says the home-crowd support pushes her to try new things.

"These are my first shows back in the North East and I cannot wait! Stockton and Newcastle - we will be going out with a bang!

My costumes are organised and the set is ready. In terms of the performance, I have grown a lot and changed my style since my last two singles Walk Away and Beat of You. I hope the audiences recognise the more intimate feel and respond - I want people to feel involved."
