Part of the A66 will remain closed for several hours due to a serious collision involving a coach.
The A66 eastbound is expected to remain cordoned off until at least 4pm today, due to temporary barriers being installed. Police say the eastbound carriageway will then be reduced to one lane to accommodate the barrier for several days.
Police are still on the scene following the incident which took place at around 7.50am. The female driver of the coach, who was the only person on board, has been taken to James Cook University Hospital with leg injuries.
Motorists have been advised they can still leave the A66 at the turn offs for Cineworld or the A172, however, delays can be expected.
Drivers are urged to avoid the A66 if possible and use alternative routes.
