Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision in York on Saturday morning.
At about 5.30am on Saturday 8 September 2018, police and ambulance services attended a crash involving one moped.
It happened on the A59 Boroughbridge Road near to the junction with Plantation Drive, in York.
The collision involved a single rider on a silver-coloured Piaggio moped who was travelling outbound towards the ring road.
Despite efforts by a local passing fire crew, the rider, a 48-year-old man from the York area, was died at the scene.
The road was closed for five hours while officers from the Roads Policing Group and Forensic Collision Investigation Unit examined the area.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or have dashcam footage, to contact the North Yorkshire Police.
