A service celebrating the life of PC David Rathband is about to get underway in Newcastle.
The memorial, organised by PC Rathband's family, is being held at St Nicholas Cathedral conducted by the Dean of Newcastle.
A memorial service for PC David Rathband is set to take place this weekend.
The police officer, who was shot and blinded by gunman Raoul Moat, was found dead at his home in Blyth, Northumberland last week. He will be mourned at St Nicholas Cathedral in Newcastle.
The ceremony has been organised by the officer’s twin bother, Darren. His family have been invited, along with a host of politicians and senior dignitaries.

The service will take place at midday on Saturday.
A memorial service will be held for PC Rathband who died last week. David Rathband was shot and blinded by gunman Raoul Moat. The 44-year-old traffic officer was found hanging at his home in Blyth, Northumberland, on Wednesday evening. The service will be held next week.
