Shakespeare thief dies in prison

A man who was jailed for handling a stolen copy of a rare first collection of William Shakespeare’s plays has died in a Northumberland prison.

Raymond Scott was sentenced to eight years at HMP Northumberland in August 2010 after being caught with the priceless first folio.

It was stolen from Durham University in 1998.
