The National Trust is enjoying bumper visitor numbers in the region. Gibside near Gateshead has had a busy bank holiday so far.
It's one of several places that have seen an average 12% more people through its gates between March 2011 and February 2012.

Newcastle International Airport anticipates this weekend to bethe busiest of the year so far.
45,000 customers are expected to travel over the Bank Holiday, with 410 flights scheduled over the four day period.
A spokesperson from Newcastle International Airport said some of the most popular destinations are the Canaries, Spain, Tunisia, Malta and New York as people search for warmer weather.
