Bomb Blast Compensation Anger

A family whose lives were shattered in a Turkish terror attack have branded the compensation they will receive as an insult.

Family outraged at compensation offer

The family of a County Durham woman killed in a terrorist attack in Turkey, say the compensation they will receive is "a drop in the ocean" compared with what they were expecting.

The Turkish Government has rejected damages awarded 3 years ago, following the death of Helyn Bennett. It's now offering £30,000 instead of £1million.

A family whose lives were shattered in a Turkish terror attack have branded the compensation they will receive an insult. Helyn Bennett, from Spennymoor, was one of five people killed when an explosion ripped through a minibus in the resort of Kusadasi in 2005.

Helyn's family was initially awarded £1.1 million but has now been told they'll get less than £30,000 after Turkish authorities rejected their claim. The family now hopes to receive compensation from the British Government.
