Investigations continue into SSI accident
Investigations will continue today after a workman was injured in an accident at the SSI steel plant in Redcar. The Great North Air Ambulance, police and fire were called to the plant yesterday afternoon after reports that a lorry driver had been hurt while cleaning his vehicle.

A contractor at the SSI steel works on Teesside has been taken to hospital with leg injuries. He was cleaning his vehicle at the site when the incident happened. He was airlifted to James Cook University Hospital by the Great North Air Ambulance. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
