As part of his opening speech the Foreign Secretary said that people who live in rural areas 'deserve as good health care as those living in urban areas'.

Rally against Friarage hospital closure begins
Hundreds are gathering in Northallerton as a rally against the possible closure of a paediatric and maternity hospital in the town gets underway.
A rolling road closure has been put in place for the march which will take a route from County Hall to the Friarage Hospital at the Bullamoor Memorial Fields, beginning at 2.40pm.
