A man from Seaham who has been arrested in connection with the murder of a couple near Manchester is believed to be their son.

Police are to reinvestigate a road accident involving a man suspected of murdering his parents.
Nic Seddon, 45, is being questioned by police after his father, Bob, and mother, Patricia, were discovered shot dead at their home in Sale, Manchester.
He was arrested at his home in Benevente Street, Seaham, County Durham on Saturday night following the discovery. Yesterday Detectives were granted a further 36 hours to question the father-of-three, giving them until around midnight tonight.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that a fresh probe has now been launched into an incident in March, where a car, driven by Seddon, plunged into a canal in Manchester.
His parents were passengers in the vehicle. Seddon was nominated for a Pride of Britain Award after he helped rescue them.

Detectives have been given another 36 hours to question a man from County Durham on suspicion of murdering his parents.
Police found the bodies of Bob Seddon, and his wife Patricia, at their home in Sale in Greater Manchester, on Friday.
Nic Seddon, 45, was arrested at his home in Seaham the following day. A post-mortem examination confirmed the couple died of gunshot wounds.

The operation was carried out by Durham police on behalf of Greater Manchester Police who are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman in their sixties, who were found dead in a house on Friday afternoon.
A post-mortem revealed both died from gunshot wounds.
