Farmwatch teams win award for efforts

Police officers and volunteers who work together to fight rural crime have been given an award for their hard work. Teesdale and Weardale's 'Farmwatch' scheme sees teams go out at night, to catch burglars, poachers and scrap-metal thieves.

Operations are organised at the last minute, and held on random evenings to catch criminals unaware. It's part of a wider Farmwatch network across the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria.
