The A1 northbound carriageway has reopened after a fatal crash, south of Catterick in North Yorkshire. The road had been closed for most of the day after the crash between four vehicles. A lorry driver aged 38 from Stockton died and another driver is being treated in hospital.

Another driver, aged 58 and from North Lincolnshire, is in a critical but stable condition in hospital. No one else was injured.
