North Yorkshire Police have released a statement after the death of a three-year-old girl in York:
– North Yorkshire Police statement"North Yorkshire Police were called by the Ambulance Service at around 2.35pm on Monday 17 September after a three-year-old girl suffered serious injuries in a play area at York College, on Sim Balk Lane.
"The girl was taken to York District Hospital, where sadly she was pronounced dead.
"The scene is currently cordoned off as officers investigate the incident.
"At this stage, police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances and it appears that the girl has become entangled in a piece of play equipment."
Officer are now investigating the incident to establish exactly what happened. Anyone who was in the area at the time is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
