A man is intensive care and fighting for his life after an assault at a pub in Darlington.

Man arrested after Darlington assault

A man has been arrested by police investigating a serious assault in Darlington.

The 33 year old victim remains in intensive care after being attacked in front of the bar of The William Stead on October 8.

Police are appealing for witnesses. They have arrested a 32 year old man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Man fighting for life after assault

A man is intensive care and fighting for his life after an assault at a pub in Darlington.

Police say the attack in front of the bar of The William Stead was very violent and anybody who witnessed it would have been shocked by the level of violence used.

Officers are now searching through CCTV footage in an attempt to find those responsible.

The 33 year old victim remains in intensive care at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

Anyone who witnessed the attack at around 11pm October 8, or has any information, is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Sean Jackson on 101.
