Robbie Elliott makes it to St James' Park

Former Newcastle United and Sunderland player Robbie Elliott has completed his 3,500-mile cycling challenge with a 'celebratory' leg to St James' Park.

Elliott and his cycling partner Phil Gray arrived in time for this afternoon's match, and was greeted by Sir Bobby Robson's widow Lady Elsie.

Cycling duo arrive in Ponteland

Former Newcastle United star Robbie Elliott and his cycling partner Phil Gray have arrived back in the North East, after cycling from Portugal.

The pair are raising money for Robbie's cancer foundation and were welcomed to Ponteland by cyclists gearing up for a 'Cycle Sportive' event.
