Darlington Council leader responds to Mowden Hall closure
The leader of Darlington Borough Council has responded to the decision by the Department for Education to close the Mowden Hall site in the town.
The Department for Education has been in Darlington for many many years and we have strong links with them. We are aware that they need to move premises and will continue to work closely with them to help them identify suitable accommodation in Darlington.

Darlington MP responds to Mowden Hall closure decision
Darlington MP, Jenny Chapman has responded to the decision to close the Department for Education site at Mowden Hall in Darlington. In a statement released today, the Labour MP said:
I am very disappointed by the Department of Education’s announcement today. Their statement is sorely lacking a commitment to keep these important jobs in Darlington.
This is despite work local businesses have already done to showcase excellent potential sites in the town - a process that the Department disappointingly drew away from.
Department for Education announce Mowden Hall in Darlington to close
The Department for Education has confirmed in a letter to Darlington MP Jenny Chapman that the Mowden Hall site in the town will close.
The decision is part of a review of buildings used by the department. It is expected that staff will be relocated to new site in Darlington or Newcastle.
