The 36-year-old said nothing as the verdicts were read out and there were cries of 'yes' from the public gallery.
Allen has previous convictions for burglary, and GBH and was jailed in 2004 for burglary in which the occupier was stabbed 4 times.
He has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 37 years.
The judge described James Allen's crimes as "murders of exceptional brutality and savagery".
