Heavy horse carrying timber at Guisborough Forest
A horse named Blue has been recruited to remove timber from Guisborough Forest in North Yorkshire, reviving a tradition of horse logging that dates back centuries. Using a horse rather than a tractor causes less damage to the forest floor. The sycamore logs will be sold locally as firewood.
