The Gas Safety body has been warning the public how to avoid the silent killer that is carbon monoxide poisoning.
Here are the six signs of poisoning from the dangerous gas:

In the last year 50 people have died from carbon monoxide poisoning, and a further 4000 people have been affected by the poisonous gas.
Here are the top tips from the Gas Safety Register on how to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning:
- Only use a Gas Safe registered engineer to fix, fit or maintain your gas appliances.
- Recognise the six symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.
- Do not assume that your gas appliances are safe - get these checked and serviced regularly.
- Buy an audible carbon monoxide alarm.
