Parents fighting to get treatment for their seriously ill children have revealed how they were denied a referral to their hospital of choice. It comes as two northern hospitals continue to battle over the future of their children's heart units.

Leeds General Infirmary have responded to a claim made by parents that their requests to have their children transferred to the Freeman Hospital are not being acted on.
ITV News spoke to Dr Dominic Hares, from Leeds General Infirmary, about the claims that they had a fight to get the referrals they wanted.
Tonight, ITV News brought you the exclusive story of the parents fighting to get the best treatment for their seriously ill children - and being denied a referral to the hospital of their choice.
The children were being treated for life threatening heart conditions at Leeds General Infirmary, but when their parents became dissatisfied with their care, they were told that they could not have a referral to Newcastle's Freeman Hospital.
The two hospitals are locked in a battle over the future of their children's heart units. Under NHS plans, one of them will have to close.
