Newcastle United captain Fabricio Coloccini is set to stay at the club until at least the end of the season.

The 31-year-old had been linked with a January move back to his native Argentina after reportedly telling the Magpies he has personal problems. San Lorenzo had also publicly declared their interest in the player.

However, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has today confirmed that his captain will remain on Tyneside for the foreseeable future.
