Severe delays on trains due to signalling problems at Eaglescliffe

Signalling problems at Eaglescliffe causing delays of up to 30 minutes on First Transpennine Express between Northallerton and Middlesbrough.

Also causing delays of up to 30 minutes on Grand Central Trains between Northallerton and Sunderland, and on Northern Rail between Darlington and Saltburn.

There is currently no estimate for when a normal service will resume.

RAIL: GRAND CENTRAL TRAINS

Disruption on Grand Central Trains between Sunderland and Kings Cross, and between Bradford Interchange and Kings Cross due to overhead line problems at St Neots.

Tickets are being accepted on East Midlands Trains services.

Trains are not able to run between Peterborough and London, disruption will be ongoing for the whole of today.

A replacement bus service is running between Peterborough and London.

Also affecting First Capital Connect, East Coast and First Hull Trains.

ROADS: A19 - NORTHBOUND - SUNDERLAND

A19 Northbound closed, queuing traffic due to accident involving six vehicles between A690 Durham Road / B1286 City Way (Herrington Interchange) and A183 Chester Road.

The accident has happened just before the exit slip road at Durham Road, affecting traffic towards the Tyne Tunnel.

Traffic has not been helped by poor weather conditions in the area.
