Soldiers march through Newcastle to mark St George's Day

Soldiers from the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers are marching through Newcastle today in a parade to mark St George's Day.

Around 150 soldiers from the 5th Battalion and Territorial Army battalion set-off from the Civic Centre this morning.

The regiment, which has its headquarters in Durham and recruits from all over the North East, celebrates its anniversary on St George's Day, which is on Tuesday, April 23.
