Songs and scones

A concert with a difference aims to bring isolated, older people in North Yorkshire together to enjoy live music and a chat over a cup of tea.

Songs and Scones is being run by Live Music Now, the charity set up by renowned violinist Yehudi Menuhin.

It aims to offer the benefits of live music to those with least access to it.

The monthly concerts are taking place at Amotherby Village Hall near Malton and are attracting interest from across the district.

Funding has been secured to run the event in Ryedale until next year.

Live Music Now is also hoping stage Songs and Scones in venues across the country as its popularity grows.
