There are many happy fans in the North East after the world's biggest boy band announced they will be playing a show at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.
At a press conference in Wembley today, Louis, Harry, Niall, Zayn and Liam - otherwise known as One Direction - said they will be performing for thousands of fans in the North East on 28 May next year as part of a World Tour.
Tickets go on sale in just over a week's time on Saturday 25th May.
Boy band One Direction have announced that they are going to embark their first headline world stadium tour in 2014.
The "Where We Are" tour will include dates at London's Wembley Stadium, Milan's San Siro, and Tokyo's Dome.
Initial dates have been announced for the UK, Ireland and Latin America - including in Sunderland on the 28 May 2014. More dates are expected to be added soon.
