Around 400 toddlers turned out at Saltwell Park in Gateshead for the annual Big Toddle which raises money for charity.

The sponsored walk is in its 17th year and supports Barnardo's.

Parents and children taking part enjoyed dressing up in the fancy dress theme of fairy tale characters.

Organiser Angela Robinson said:

" It's a fantastic event which provides a great day out for under 5s, mums and dads, carers and play groups. 25% of the money raised goes back into local projects and it's good to see that even in tough economic times, turnout is good. And the weather is perfect!'
