Durham cricketer Graham Onions has been picked for the 13-man England cricket squad who will face Australia in the first Ashes test.

Durham cricketer Graham Onions said on Twitter that he was "obviously delighted" to be selected to face Australia in the first Ashes test. He posted the message along with a picture of the Durham ground, saying he was "excited to have a chance of playing" there. Durham will host the fourth test.

Graham Onions selected for Ashes first test

Selectors have named Durham cricketer Graham Onions in the England squad to face Australia in the first Ashes test on Wednesday.

The series begins at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Durham will host its first ever Ashes Test Match in August - the fourth in the series.
