England's women beat Australia by seven wickets in their final international T20 match in Durham, to round off a victorious Ashes series.

The England side had already secured a series win before they travelled to the North East, so collected their Ashes trophy after the game at the Durham Emirates ICG.

The England and Australia teams have arrived in Durham ahead of the Women's Ashes.

The home team regained the trophy after beating Australia by five wickets in their second Twenty20 match.

England are leading the series 10-4 ahead of the final Twenty20 game at Durham tomorrow. (Saturday)

Women's Ashes results so far

The format of the women's Ashes series is different to the men's series, which was won in Durham this month.

It started badly for England in 2013, but the team revived and won the series with one match in hand in Southampton yesterday. The final Twenty20 will be played in Chester-le-Street tomorrow.

  • 2nd One Day International: ENG WON by 51 runs
  • 3rd One Day International: *ENG WON *by 5 wickets

Women's Ashes teams arrive in the North East

England's women cricketers are arriving in the North East ahead of tomorrow's final Ashes match at Chester-le-Street.

The team, led by Charlotte Edwards, won the series and regained the Ashes yesterday in Southampton. They will play the final Twenty20 match tomorrow at the Durham Emirates ICG in a double-header with the men's team, who take on Australia in their own Twenty20 in the afternoon.
