Family statement: "This is a living nightmare for us"

The two daughters of John Hall, who was found dead in the West Rainton area of Durham on Sunday, September 15, have released a statement.

"This is a living nightmare for us, it is the hardest and most heartbreaking thing that we will ever have to deal with. He was our dad, he brought us up and made us into who we are today.

"Death is such a terrible thing but murder is something that we will never be able to accept or come to terms with. Inside our dad was a gentleman and would do anything for anyone. No-one, and certainly not our dad, deserved this.

"He was a loving son, brother, dad, grandad and uncle and a true friend to many.

"We know that he will be looking down on us and one day we will all be together again. Until then we will keep you in our hearts. Love you forever dad."
