Madine has 'anger management issues'

Frazer Maude reports from Leeds Crown Court as Sheffield Wednesday player Gary Madine is jailed for attacking two men in separate nightclub attacks.

The court heard that the striker, who's been with the club for two years, has anger management issues, and is aggressive and violent when he's been drinking.

A Championship footballer from Tyneside has been jailed for 18 months after he was found guilty of punching two men in separate nightclub attacks.

Gary Madine, 23, who has a previous conviction for knocking a man out in a Carlisle pub, punched a man in a bar in Sheffield in February last year, breaking his nose.

Four weeks later Madine, from Birtley, punched another man in the city shattering his cheekbone.

Madine jailed after two attacks

A Championship footballer from Birtley has been jailed for 18 months after being found guilty of punching two men in separate nightclub attacks.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Madine, 23, punched Wednesday fan Daniel Beresford in the Paris Bar, Sheffield, in February last year, breaking his nose.

A month later, he punched Sheffield United fan Reece Hall in the Viper Room club, damaging his cheekbone.

He was jailed at Leeds Crown Court.
