The fundraiser is hoping to finish a 2558 mile journey from Perth to Sydney.

But it seems his feet are already feeling the strain of the epic mission.

A North East fundraiser is setting off on his latest fundraising challenge today.

Mark Allison, also known as Run Geordie Run, is planning to run across Australia.

He'll begin in Perth today.

Mark hopes to run 2,600 miles to Sydney in just 70 days.

That's a gruelling 41 miles per day.

He is raising funds for the Children's Foundation and the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
