HMS Grimsby to sail into Newcastle

Royal Navy Warship HMS Grimsby will be sailing up the River Tyne this evening.

The vessel will pass under the Newcastle Gateshead Millennium Bridge and berth at Newcastle Quays, where it will be open to the general public. The ship is travelling from Hartlepool and is expected to arrive on Tyneside at around 5pm.

Royal Navy Warship HMS Grimsby will be sailing into Hartlepool this morning.

The 450-tonne vessel is going alongside the town's Victoria Quay as part of a regional engagement programme and in support of the traditional celebration of Trafalgar Day.

The ship will also pass under the Newcastle Gateshead Millennium Bridge and berth at Newcastle Quays on Sunday, before she returns to operational tasking on October 22.
