Royal Navy Warship HMS Grimsby will be sailing up the River Tyne this evening.
The vessel will pass under the Newcastle Gateshead Millennium Bridge and berth at Newcastle Quays, where it will be open to the general public. The ship is travelling from Hartlepool and is expected to arrive on Tyneside at around 5pm.
Lieutenant Commander Mark Hammon, the Royal Navy officer in charge of HMS Grimsby, said:
"I know that my crew are thrilled to be visiting the seafaring town of Hartlepool.
"I believe it is important to maintain the Royal Navy's strong affiliation with the town, and it's an honour to represent the RN on the anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, especially in a town with such an esteemed maritime history."
