The Leader of Newcastle City Council said that a court's ruling forcing them to pay for an asylum seeker's flying lessons is 'the wrong decision'.
Cllr Nick Forbes said his council is feeling 'budget pressure' and that there was 'no common sense' in the ruling.
A court has ruled that Newcastle City Council must help pay for an asylum seeker's flying lessons, to help him become a pilot.
Yonas Kebede was taken into care by Newcastle council after he was abandoned here by his Ethiopian father.
Now the council is legally obliged to help him find a job.
