Filipino staff at North Tyneside hospital have held a service, a week after the typhoon which has devastated their country.
They have seen the pictures of towns completely destroyed and faced a long wait to hear if their families are alive. Today they fell silent to remember those who have died, those still missing and those who are safe.
Katie Oakes went to meet them.
The Filipino community in the North East are continuing to contact their families in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan.
Abigail Santiago Molina, a nurse at North Tyneside General Hospital, said the last few days had been the "longest week" as she waited to hear from relatives in the Philippines.
