The Environment Agency has issued the following advice to anyone living in flood alert areas:
- Protect pets and think about animals outside
- Avoid cycling
- Only travel if necessary
- Try to protect your property with sandbags
A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Nidd. Flooding is possible for The River Nidd and the River Ouse.
A Flood Alert has been issued for the Lower River Tees. Flooding is possible for Low lying land in the Lower Tees valley, from Middleton St George to the Tees Barrage, including Lustrum Beck, Middlesbrough Becks, Greatham Beck and the Riverside footpaths at Yarm.
The Environment Agency has issued flood warnings for the Rivers Pont and Blyth. The River Pont is slowly rising following heavy rainfall overnight.
The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for the Lower River Coquet. Flooding is possible for Lower River Coquet and its tribrutaries from Brinkburn to Warkworth. Low lying land and roads will be affected first.
