Police have confirmed three people have died in a serious crash on a country road on the Yorkshire Wolds. The crash happened at 6am on the B1248 between Driffield and Malton, about one mile from the village of Wharram-Le-Street.
Police have confirmed that a mother and her son were among three people who died in a car crash in North Yorkshire.
The collision happened on the B1248 between Wetwang and Malton on Wednesday morning. A 47-year-old man, a 40-year-old woman and her 18-year-old son were all killed when their Ford Focus collided with a Citroen van. All three were of Polish nationality and lived in Hull.
Two men, aged 37 and 30, were also travelling in the Ford Focus and were injured in the crash. Both remain in Hull Royal Infirmary.
The driver of the van, a 48-year-old man from Pickering, has been discharged from York District Hospital.
The workplace of the three people who died in a car crash today have released a statement.
“We are extremely saddened to hear about the road accident this morning, in which three of our colleagues were fatally injured. Our thoughts go out to their families at this distressing time and we are offering support to those families and to the colleagues of those who died. We are assisting the police in any way possible with their enquiries into the cause of the incident.”
