ITV's Text Santa appeal is in full swing. Money raised during the annual appeal is split equally between six charities.

Our very own Pam Royle and Ross Hutchinson took a break from the studio today to pack bags at Morrisons supermarket in Killingworth.

It was part of ITV’s Text Santa appeal, which will help six key charities.

Age UK, Barnardo’s, BeatBullying, the British Heart Foundation, CLIC Sargent (which supports children with cancer) and Help the Hospices will all benefit.

Pam and Ross were helped by pupils from Bailey Green Primary School in Killingworth.
