A man has died after a bus and car collided in Darlington. It happened on the junction of Parkgate and St Cuthbert's Way in the town just before 5pm yesterday, December 21.

Man named after fatal collision in Darlington

The man who died in a collision between an Isuzu Trooper and a bus on Saturday afternoon in Darlington has been named as 19 year old James Thomas Reddington from Kirkby Close in Darlington.

Mr Reddington who was a passenger in the Isuzu Trooper was confirmed dead at the scene.

The collision happened at the junction of Parkgate and St Cuthbert's Way at around 4.55 pm.

25 year old Darrel French who was driving the car appeared before Peterlee magistrates today charged with a range of offences including causing death by dangerous driving and burglary.

He was remanded in custody for two weeks.

A 23 year old man who was also a passenger in the car is still in hospital with a broken leg and facial injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who was near the area of the collision and saw anything to contact them.

Police say a car involved in a collision with a bus in Darlington was stolen less than thirty minutes earlier.

The collision on the junction of Parkgate and St Cuthbert's Way in the town happened just before 5pm yesterday, December 21.

A passenger in the car died, while another man was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Bus passengers were treated for shock.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and burglary. Durham Police are appealing for anyone who saw the accident to contact them.

Man dies after collision between car and bus

A man has died after a collision between a car and a bus. The incident involving a silver Isuzu Trooper and an Arriva bus happened at the junction of Parkgate and St Cuthbert’s Way in Darlington yesterday at 4:55pm.

One man was confirmed dead at the scene and another man was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Police say a number of passengers on the bus were treated at the scene for shock.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
